You know how I knew it was going to be a great day here at KINeSYS?—because I slammed my head into a storage unit at 9AM when I was taking some inventory. Fortunately (like many of our esteemed leaders in Washington DC) I have an unimaginably hard head

But enough about me and my day here at KINeSYS, let’s talk about some goings-on in the world around us.

That being said what is with Cambridge Police Office Jim Crowley versus Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. being national news? (It’s on the front page of CNN.com for crying out loud!!!) OK–so a black professor got riled up and the cop hauled him to jail for disorderly conduct, so what?! Stuff like this happens everyday to people of all races black, white or otherwise and it doesn’t make the news. The charges were dropped any way and the professor was released soon there after.

Just because Gates was black does not make this a racially charged thing. While I admit that racial bias still permeates pockets of our society in a negative way, I do not believe that race played into his decision to take the professor “downtown” as they say. I mean come on,…there are eyewitness accounts Crowley performing mouth to mouth on an unconscious black man back in 1993 in an effort to save his life, did the officer only develop his hatred for Black Americans in the last decade or so?

What’s worse than the national media weighing in on this issue is President Obama offering the world his two-cents. If there was ever a comment that made Obama look more like a rock star and less like a qualified leader it was this one “I don’t have all the facts…but what the officer did was stupid”.

First of all, get the facts straight before making a comment (you’re not supposed to be like former President Bush!) and secondly, concern yourself with more pressing issues LIKE THE ECONOMY or the WAR IN AFGHANISTAN before fielding questions at a news conference regarding a former professor of yours at Harvard. Jeeze.

Getting back to the wide world of KINeSYS, our phones have been ringing off the hook from customers in Arizona, Nevada, Southern California and Hawaii asking when they should expect our goods in their stores. Finally we have an answer, and that is we’ve shipping to the Whole Foods distributor for the southwest region and you should expect KINeSYS in the stores by sometime next week if they’re not already in stores today!

Also, if you’ll be in Lake Tahoe region—or even better at the Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament—this weekend, keep your eyes peeled for KINeSYS products and sportswear, as some of the athletes will be adorning our products.
